TAPP Calls on Policymakers to Stop Pursuing Anti-Innovation Legislation

Technological innovation is the core of our modern economy, and it is essential that American policy initiatives promote technological innovation in order to maintain our competitive edge in the global marketplace. However, recent legislation proposed in Congress has the potential to undermine the domestic tech sector and harm our economic and national security.

Reports show an estimated $500 billion loss in sales for small and medium-sized retail businesses would sustain in roughly the first five years after the passage of anti-innovation legislation.

Anti-innovation legislation could stifle competition and restrict consumer choice. For example, legislation that limits the ability of tech companies to acquire other companies or invest in new technologies could prevent them from competing effectively in the marketplace. This would ultimately lead to fewer options for consumers and higher prices.

Furthermore, restrictive legislation could also have a negative impact on our national security. America’s tech sector is a major contributor to our military and intelligence capabilities, and any restrictions on innovation could weaken our ability to respond to national security threats.

In order to ensure that America remains competitive in the global marketplace and that our economy and national security are protected, it is essential that we promote technological innovation through American policy initiatives. This includes investing in research and development, providing tax incentives for companies that invest in new technologies, and creating a business environment that is friendly to innovation.

Anti-innovation legislation in Congress would harm our economic and national security and make it more expensive for small businesses to operate and get new customers. It's important for American policy initiatives to promote technological innovation to ensure America remains competitive in the global marketplace.

TAPP is calling on Congress to stop pursuing policy initiatives that hinder America’s technological innovation and our competitive edge in the global economy.
