Thank Sen. John Thune for Standing with Patients over Politics

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has proposed a sweeping prescription drug bill that would hurt patients and stifle innovation. Her bill, H.R. 3, would impose crushing taxes on drug companies and would severely limit choices for doctors and patients.

Rep. Pelosi’s plan would impose taxes of up to 95% on drug companies, making it impossible for them to supply Americans with the life-saving innovations that we have become accustomed to receiving. Her plan would also set drug prices based on the prices paid in six other countries that have socialist healthcare systems and thus very restrictive and unresponsive service: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

Rep. Pelosi’s plan would import substandard prescription drug markets from these foreign countries and would result in diminished care for American patients. Her plan would also disrupt the healthcare market in the U.S. and result in the loss of countless well-paying jobs.

Thankfully, U.S. Senator John Thune of South Dakota is opposing the powerful socialist forces in Congress that would sabotage our healthcare. Sen. Thune deserves praise for standing on the side of American patients, American innovation, and American workers.

We encourage everyone to call Sen. Thune at 605-334-9596 to thank him for siding with patients.
