TAPP Submits Comments on “USPTO Initiatives to Ensure the Robustness and Reliability of Patent Rights”

On February 23, 2023, the Trade Alliance to Promote Prosperity responded to a U.S. Patent and Trade Office Request for Comments on “USPTO Initiatives to Ensure the Robustness and Reliability of Patent Rights.”

In the comments, TAPP expressed these main concerns:

1.     The USPTO proposal would seriously hinder innovation by diminishing patent incentives for biotechnology companies.

2.     The proposal should be based on empirical research and rigorous scientific studies.

3.     The proposal should be technology-neutral and not unfairly target medical innovators.
