TAPP in DC Journal: Trump Policy Threatens Biomedical Innovation
Trade Alliance to Promote Prosperity Executive Director Kent Kaiser, Ph.D., has an op-ed, "Trump Policy Threatens Biomedical Innovation," appearing in the DC Journal/Inside Sources today.
In the op-ed, Kaiser discussed cuts to National Institutes of Health grant programs and the president's executive order on implementing a "Most Favored Nation" drug pricing policy. Kaiser wrote, in part, "The combination of policies threatens to squeeze biomedical investment from two sides, right and left, private and public, at once... The combination of adopting an MFN policy while imposing NIH funding cuts — especially during a time of rapidly rising research costs — should be reconsidered for the sake of the American scientists who develop miracle cures and of the patients who depend on them."
