TAPP in DC Journal: On Drugs, Is Trump Tired of Winning or What?
Trade Alliance to Promote Prosperity Executive Director Kent Kaiser, Ph.D., penned an op-ed for the DC Journal/Inside Sources today, “On Drugs, Is Trump Tired of Winning or What?” In the op-ed, TAPP explains why President Trump’s Most-Favored-Nation drug pricing scheme would be bad for American pharmaceutical innovation and for patients.
In part, TAPP wrote, “The real kicker is, imposing an MFN drug pricing policy would not even address the real drivers of the high drug costs that the president says he wants to bring down. Pharmaceutical industry middlemen and large health systems take advantage of federal drug discount programs without passing savings on to patients. This is where policymakers should focus their reform efforts to score a win for American patients.”
